The Role of the Statehood Steering Committee |

The Northern Territory Statehood Steering Committee is formed to provide a community based focus to move to an eventual grant of Statehood for the Northern Territory. The process is to take into account respect for and proper recognition of the Indigenous people of the Territory and Indigenous people are to be involved in all stages of the process. The Committee’s role is to represent the views of all Territorians to the parliament and the government. It is to ensure all views are respected and considered in providing advice on how to best obtain Statehood. Contents
