A New Beginning

The focus of the Statehood Steering Committee is a new beginning. An opportunity for all Territorians to decide together on what we need for Statehood.

• What will our constitution look like?
• Who will decide what goes into our constitution?
• Why do we need a constitution?

All these issues will be part of discussions about Statehood that you will be hearing about over the next year or two.

Many Territorians will be eligible to vote at a future referendum on Statehood who were too young to vote last time or who were not in the Territory last time.

The Statehood Steering Committee wants to ensure these Territorians have a full understanding of all the benefits of Statehood.

The Statehood Steering Committee wants to ensure that everyone who votes in the next referendum knows just what Statehood is and what it means for all of us.
